Bishop Luers scored five first half goals and cruised to a shutout win over South Adams in varsity boys soccer Thursday evening in Berne, 8-0.
The loss drops the Starfires to 2-6-1, while Luers improves to 10-2.
Ben Oberley scored twice in the first half for Luers as they kept most of the pressure in the Starfires’ defensive side. Nick Strack, Andrew Schenkel and Jake Schifflet also scored during the first half for the Knights.
Peter McNamara shouldered the scoring load in the second half for Luers, pumping in two scores. Brady Bubb added a single tally.
Wes Thompson served in goal for the Starfires, making nine saves.
The Starfires put two shots on goal.
