LAKEVILLE – The Adams Central Lady Flying Jets are changing their nickname from the Lady Jets to the “Come-Back Kids” as they rallied from behind for fourth and fifth times in the softball tourney to claim the LaVille Semi-State at Lakeville on Saturday by beating Wapahani by an 11-6 score and Wheeler 4-1 in the championship.
The twin wins give the Jets (22-6) their second-straight semi state championship and propel them to the state championship game for the second straight season.
In the opening game against Wapahani (24-8), Sydnee Peterson had a one-hitter going through the first four innings, while the Raiders’ Hannah Rose had given up only two harmless singles.
