Liechty, Starfire boys win invitational titles
With nearly half of the top nine runners all hailing from South Adams, the host Starfires ran away with the boysâ€™ team title Saturday at the South Adams Small School Cross Country Invitational.
South Adams avenged a four-point loss to Frankton a week earlier at the New Haven Classic, beating the Eagles 46-59 for the team championship. Adams Central was fourth with 184 points.
The girlsâ€™ title went to Northfield with 75 points. South Adams took second with 108 and Adams Central was fourth with 141.
