Lions rough up Central girls

Leo roared to a 20-4 lead after one quarter and went on to beat Adams Central 67-25 in varsity girls’ basketball Monday night at Leo.
The Lions (17-2, 6-1 ACAC) outscored Adams Central in every quarter. They held a 17-7 advantage in second quarter scoring, a 19-6 edge in the third quarter, and added to their lead with an 11-8 run in the fourth.
Tobi Karmen led Leo with 13 points; Abbie Heischman scored 12; and Millie Adams added 10.
Megan Salway led Adams Central (5-13, 0-7) with six points; Briona Case and Abby Busse both scored five; Katie Carroll had three; Kara Keller, Haley Stinson and Lindsey Bluhm had two points each.
Leo won the junior varsity contest 47-22.
Taylor Biberstine led AC’s reserves with 13 points; Abbie Hurst and Rileigh Wolpert had three points each; Annie Isch added two points; Courtney Sheets had one.
