WABASH – Dayton Rumell capped a eight-run surge by the Delphi Oracles with a run-scoring blast to left centerfield that ended Adams Central’s run in the IHSAA state baseball tournament in the championship game of the Wabash Class 2A Regional Monday evening.
Rumell, who had been dropped from third to ninth in the Delphi lineup due to a midseason slump, hit his walk off double with two outs to finish a four-run seventh inning for Delphi, giving it an 8-7 victory after trailing by seven runs.
