Southern Wells overcame its offensive woes well before South Adams and trumped the host Starfires 41-24 in varsity girls’ basketball Friday night at the Stardome.
South Adams (6-8, 1-4 ACAC) held Southern Wells to just three first quarter points, but could manage just one of its own. The Raiders began pulling away in the second quarter, outscoring South Adams 15-8, and when the Starfires managed just three points in the third quarter the game was over.
“We did have some good looks, but we just couldn’t hit anything,” said South Adams coach Brett Freeman. “We were forced to trap and gamble more than we like. That helped create some good scoring chances for them.”
