WABASH – An error on what could have been a double play opened the floodgates for Northfield as it scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning and went on to beat Adams Central 6-1 in the first round of the Wabash Class 2A baseball regional Saturday at Chris Rood Field.
The Jets (12-15-1) were tied with Northfield after both teams scored a run in the first inning and went scoreless in the second.
Northfield starter Adam House gave up a third inning single to Cody Brunner, but escaped further damage when he got Nathan Busse on a flyout and Landon Brunner on strikes.
