After opening with a 48-27 loss to Allen County Athletic Conference front-runner Leo, South Adams bounced back and scored a 51-24 win over Bluffton and a 50-30 win over Heritage to finish a four-team varsity wrestling meeting with a 2-1 mark.
The Starfires are now 11-4 this season, and 4-2 in the ACAC, virtually eliminating them from a chance at the conference round robin title.
The Starfires slipped into a quick hole against Leo, losing the first two matches by fall, but had tied things up (21-21) after a win by Austin Grabau at 145 pounds. Leo claimed three straight six-point wins from 152 pounds to 170 pounds to go ahead 39-21, and took two of the final three matches to win...
