Starfire boys win, girls lose at Jay County
South Adams scored twice in 10 of 12 individual events, and won six of them in posting a 71-56 win at Jay County Thursday night in varsity boys’ track and field. The Starfire girls nabbed four wins but suffered an 89-34 setback.
The Starfire boys (1-0) got a pair of wins from Eric Isch as he led a South Adams domination in the distance events. Isch won the 1600 in 4:58, just ahead of teammate Evan Liechty in second at 5:03. Isch doubled up and won the 3200 in 10:47, followed by Liechty in 10:54 and Brody Shane in 11:07.
