Starfire girls fourth at Culver, boys 17th
Kara Seffernick ran into the top five early on during the girls’ closed division 5-kilometer race Saturday on the campus of Culver Academies and held on for fifth place to lead South Adams’ girls to a fourth place finish with 175 points.
Fairfield had its top five all finish in the top 30 and won the team title in the girls’ closed division with 101 points. Brown County took second and Hebron was third.
Seffernick completed the two-loop circuit in 20:46. Aleesha Goodwin was 25 seconds back in 11th place for the Starfires in 21:11. Katelin Hawbaker finished 37th for South Adams in 22:27, Lily Shane was 57th in 23:18 and Makenna Neuenschwander 70th in 23:50.
