Starfires 17th at state finals
TERRE HAUTE – Intimidation comes in many forms, but South Adams’ checkered clad cross country runners wouldn’t have known it if it stared them in the face.
The Starfires took on the state’s best Saturday at the 68th running of the IHSAA boys’ cross country state finals and moved quite a ways up from their projected finish at the bottom of the heap to finish 17th in the field of 24 teams in the final round of the non-classed state tournament. South Adams scored 390 points, topping seven others and throttling two teams (Homestead and South Bend Riley) that beat them a week earlier in the New Haven Semi-State.
