South Adams turned in its best nine-hole performance of the young golf season Tuesday night with three other ACAC teams in an outing at Grey Goose in Decatur and was rewarded with a runner-up finish.
Leo won the outing with a solid 164, followed by the Starfires at 181. Garrett was third with a 181 and Adams Central fourth at 195.
Mark Smith led the Starfires with a round of 42, three strokes off medalist pace. Alex Habegger was a stroke back of Smith with a 43, and Stuart Poulson was in the clubhouse in 44. Mark Muselman shot a 52 and Daniel Heckard 56.
Kaleb Davis paced Adams Central with a 45. Connor Saum shot 46, Nick McCullough 49, Blake Pfeiffer 55 and Kyle Blevins...
