Starfires bury Central, 50-24
Dzejna Ahmetovic scored the final eight point of the first quarter and spearheaded a run that would lead South Adams to a 50-24 victory over Adams Central in varsity girls’ basketball Saturday night at the Stardome.
South Adams (12-5, 3-3 ACAC) led 4-2 after an Alyssa Bluhm basket when Ahmetovic began flexing her might in the post. She took Bluhm feeds to score easy lay ins on back-to-back possessions, then converted a pair of free throws and dropped in a rebound basket to finish the first quarter.
