Starfires can’t keep pace with Union City

Sophomore Brittany Osborne sparked a strong 17-2 run that started in the first quarter and ended late in the second that ultimately led Union City to a 52-37 victory at South Adams Saturday night in varsity girls’ basketball.
The loss drops South Adams to 0-4 and runs their winless streak to 23 straight games. The Starfires are back in action on Friday night at Bluffton. Union City improves to 4-1.
South Adams led 8-6 following a rebound basket by Alaina Johnston, but Osborne sank three straight jumpers that vaulted the Indians in front 12-8. Dzejna Ahmetovic scored on a layup to end the first quarter for the Starfires, but the home team would go more than 6 minutes, 30...
