Starfires claim team titles at small school invite
South Adams put five runners in the top five of both the boys and girlsâ€™ races Saturday at its small school cross country invitational and swept the team titles in the cool and wet conditions.
The Starfire girls scored 42 points, outdistancing second place Southern Wells by 75 points. The Starfire boys scored 46 points and beat Northfield by 34.
Hannah Moore won the girlsâ€™ race in 18:53, beating Whitney Wiist of Winchester by 27 seconds. Garrettâ€™s Ariel McCoy was third, Centervilleâ€™s Emily Vance fourth and Carroll-Floraâ€™s Bridgett Peden fifth.
