Starfires clinch ACAC round robin title

Getting beat by major decision isn’t exactly a textbook way to go out on top, but when Charlie Hirschy managed to keep Leo’s Corey Botts from scoring a pin or technical fall he allowed South Adams to hang on to a tenuous lead and keep its unbeaten season alive with a 34-33 win over the Lions Thursday evening at a conference quad dual meet at Bluffton.
The Starfires went on to beat Heritage 37-29 and Bluffton 75-3 to raise its season mark to 21-0, and in the process South Adams claimed the Allen County Athletic Conference round robin championship by moving to 6-0. With just one conference dual remaining no one else in the league can catch the Starfires.
