Starfires complete comeback, move to 2-1
MUNCIE â€“ South Adams overcame an early 18-3 deficit and used a clutch 3-pointer from Scott Hoeppner to knock off Muncie Burris 62-59 Tuesday night at Ball Gymnasium, giving the Starfires back-to-back wins, as well as its first winning record since opening the 2007-08 season with three straight wins.
Dustin Wanner paced the Starfires with 29 points and was a catalyst in bringing South Adams (2-1) back from the deep early hole. Wanner buried two 3-pointers within a minute of each other late in the first quarter and cut the Burris lead to single digits.
