Having accumulated just 44 yards of total offense through the first two quarters of play, things looked tenuous for a South Adams squad that had put up some impressive offensive numbers through the first three weeks of the season Friday night at Starfire Field.
Throw on top of that an inopportune fumble early in the second half at the Starfire 37 and things were downright bleak.
South Adams, however, didn’t buckle. They forced a three-and-out by Heritage, followed that with their first scoring drive of the game, and went on to beat the Patriots 14-7 before a big home crowd.
