Starfires eye improvement on court
South Adams might have come up short in the number of wins it sought on the volleyball court a year ago, but third year varsity coach Ashley Buckingham thinks her team gained something it had been lacking in prior seasons â€“ respect.
â€œWe might not have improved our record greatly last year, but we did grow in our skill level and in turn we gained respect from our opponents.â€
The Starfires finished the 2009 campaign with a 3-24 mark and finished 0-7 in the Allen County Athletic Conference.
Gone from that team are Karen Bollenbacher (189 kills and 265 digs) and Amber Neuenschwander (316 assists and 174 digs), but the Starfires have five returning players...
