Starfires fall at Northeastern, 62-53
FOUNTAIN CITY â€“ Northeastern shot out to an early 9-0 lead against South Adams Tuesday night in varsity boysâ€™ basketball, holding off a couple of comeback attempts, and never relinquished its driverâ€™s seat at it defeated the Starfires 62-53.
The Starfires (3-5) looked like a team that was suffering the effects of a long winter nap early, going the first 5:30 without a score. Northeastern (6-3) rode the hot hand of junior Andy Scripture, who scored the first nine points of the game, early, and when their go-to guy got into foul trouble the Knights hit the Starfires with a plethora of weapons.
