Starfires get first win on road
South Adams outscored Union City 19-6 during the second half of its varsity girls’ basketball game Saturday night and scored its first win of the young season, beating the host Indians 36-26.
The Starfires (1-3) started strong and finished strong, opening the game with an 11-2 run in the first quarter and finishing it with a 12-2 run in the fourth. Union City (2-3) outscored South Adams 18-6 in the second period and held a 20-17 lead by halftime. The game was tied 24-24 going into the fourth quarter.
