A barrage of offense over the final 10 minutes of the first half helped propel South Adams to an 8-2 boys varsity soccer victory over visiting Muncie Southside Monday night. It was the first win of the season for the Starfires, moving them to 1-3 overall.
Kyle Glidewell started the scoring for South Adams, scoring off an assist from Dustin Dellinger. Ivan Fernandez added the second goal for the Starfires, getting an assist from Glidewell.
Hirotaka Asaoka then scored the first of his three goals for South Adams, giving the Starfires their winning tally. John O’Donnell and Glidwell added one goal each before the first half ended with the Stars leading 8-0.
L.J. Moser made 10 saves in goal for the Starfires.
