Starfires open with wins over Winchester
South Adams got its outdoor track season off to a winning start, posting a pair of victories over Winchester in coed action Thursday night at Starfire Field. The South Adams girls won 83-39 and the Starfire boys posted a 74-48 victory.
South Adams’ girls had four double individual winners. Leah Mitchel claimed firsts in the discus (91’) and shot put (34’7.5”); Michaela Rupp won the 100 hurdles (18.8) and 300 hurdles (58.1); Aleesha Goodwin won the 1600 (6:17) and the 3200 (13:41); and Kristen Muselman claimed the 800 (2:45) and high jump (4’4”).
