Starfires rally for six in seventh
Things looked bleak for South Adams as it went into its final at-bat in its varsity softball season opener trailing visiting Jay County 10-5. But then again, the Starfires had to do something to reward their fans for braving the chilly spring weather, and a run-of-the-mill victory would not suffice.
South Adams rallied with one out to score six runs in the bottom of the seventh, with the final two runs scoring after Alyssa Bluhm blistered a line drive right up the middle of the infield. Maddie Morgan scored easily on the hit, and Brandy Rogers tried to move from first to third.
