Starfires repeat as sectional champs
Their gold and black checkered uniforms overpowered the gloomy skies and overwhelmed the field of runners Tuesday night as South Adams captured its second straight boys cross country sectional crown at Bellmont in dominant fashion.
The Starfires had four of the first five finishers, and all five of their scoring runners finished in the top ten as they scored 23 points. Runner-up Bellmont was 49 points back with 72 points and Norwell was third with 75. Bluffton took fourth and New Haven fifth to grab the last of the team regional positions. The IHSAA advances the top five teams and the top ten individuals not on an advancing team from sectional to regional.
