South Adams jumped out to an early lead in a soggy varsity baseball game with Adams Central Saturday and never let it get away as it posted a 10-7 victory over the Jets in a non-conference contest at Harry F. Anderson Field.
The Starfires (2-1) led 2-0 after one inning, capitalizing on run-scoring triple by Marcus Rich, and later a wild pitch that allowed Rich to scamper home. South Adams extended its lead to 3-0 in the third when Corey Seffernick drove in Dustin Wanner.
