Starfires stonewall Railroaders
South Adams held the stateâ€™s tenth leading rusher to less than a third of his normal yardage, and showcased a runner of its own as it beat previously unbeaten Garrett 21-7 at Homecoming Friday night at Starfire Field.
Garrettâ€™s Todd Frickey entered the contest with 1,117 yards this season, averaging 186 per game. Frickey also came into the game sixth in the state in scoring with 20 touchdowns.
He ran for little, and scored nothing against South Adams.
Frickey finished the game with 58 yards on the ground on 17 carries, and was held out of the end zone for the first time this season.
Dustin Wanner, on the other hand, had a field day.
