Starfires stopped in sectional semi-finals
BLUFFTON â€“ South Adams unraveled in the top of the second inning, allowing six runs and was never able to recover in its semi-final game with Bluffton Wednesday night in the Class 2A Bluffton Sectional and lost to the Tigers 14-3.
Bluffton scored twice in the top of the first inning, but South Adams responded to that with a run of its own in the bottom of the frame to keep the game close. The Tigers loaded the bases to start the second inning, and went up 3-1 when Karlie Longenberger scored on a wild pitch.
