Starfires top Winchester

South Adams needed a few tiebreakers to pull through, but won three of four extra sets and beat Winchester 3-2 Tuesday night in varsity boys tennis as a result.
Scott Hoeppner won the number one singles match for the Starfires, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 and Brayden Myers took the number three singles match 6-4, 6-3. Ian Frank and Derek Schwartz finished off the win by taking the number one doubles match for South Adams, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.
South Adams’ Mark Muselman lost at number two singles, 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, and the doubles team of Jon Steffen and JD Tarr lost 4-6, 6-7 (6-8).
South Adams got a reserve doubles win from Landon Lehman and Dylan Pierce.
