Starfires triumph on road

South Adams scored a season opening road win Tuesday night in varsity baseball, beating Winchester 9-3.
The Starfires (1-0) led 2-0 after one inning, cashing in on a Taylor LeFever triple. LeFever scored on a ground out by Caleb Sprunger. Zach Morgan reached on an error and then stole home.
Blake Fox led off a three-run fourth for South Adams with a double. He scored on a hit by Kyle Raugh. Morgan walked, stole second, and then scored on a Wanner ground out. Raugh scored on a Gabe Sprunger single.
Morgan singled and scored on a Dustin Wanner double in the sixth, and Wanner scored on a Corey Seffernick single.
