Starfires turn in record setting opener
South Adams scored a school record 11 touchdowns Friday night in its varsity football season opener, all of them coming on the ground, as a potent ground game overwhelmed visiting Winchester 76-12.
The Starfires accumulated 585 total yards on the ground, with three runners going over the century mark. Marcus Rich led the way with 156 yards on six carries, Cole Farlow added 135 yards on seven carries and Zach Morgan had 101 yards on 12 carries.
That number could have easily been higher, but South Adams did all it could to let up on the gas pedal in the second half.
