Starfires win Eastern Indiana Invitational
South Adams got stalwart pitching from a trio of hurlers and allowed just three hits in two games, breezing to the title at the Eastern Indiana Invitational Saturday in Cambridge City.
The Starfires (4-3) opened with a 12-0 win over Tri and followed that with a 10-0 win over Cambridge City Lincoln.
Collin Affolder got the win in the opening game, holding Tri hitless in four innings as the South Adams starter. He struck out four and walked one before turning the mound over to Eric Pimentel.
Pimentel gave up two hits in three innings of work, walking three and striking out two.
