Stars credit Liechty for first sectional title incentive
The absence of Evan Liechty at this year’s cross country sectional in Decatur on Tuesday added an extra incentive for South Adams to go for the gold in capturing the first-ever sectional title in the sport in school history.
Brody Shane, who also captured an individual sectional title, said that when Liechty dropped out because of illness earlier this fall, team members drew closer together in attempt to keep up the high standard that he had set and to honor him (Liechty) by continuing their winning tradition.
