New Haven began pulling away from South Adams in the top of the third inning, and then put eight runs across in the top of the fifth to end their varsity baseball game with the Starfires at Harry F. Anderson Field in five innings Thursday evening 12-1.
The Starfires were held hitless in the contest, while the No. 1 ranked (Class 3A) Bulldogs rapped out 10 hits. Taylor Smith took the loss for the Starfires on the mound.
