South Adams has named its girls’ basketball tournament the Amy Meyer Holiday Classic in honor of the late standout basketball player. Meyer, a 1999 graduate of South Adams, is the second all-time leading scorer in Starfire girls’ history and is one of only two girls to surpass the 1,000 point career scoring mark. She went onto play collegiately at IPFW and Saint Francis.
The tournament is scheduled for Friday, December 30 with four games. Blackhawk Christian and Eastside will meet in round one at 10 a.m. and South Adams will take on Anderson Prep Academy at noon. A consolation game will be played at 6 p.m. and the championship is scheduled for 8 p.m.
