FORT WAYNE – Adams Central coach Doug Schultz talked about percentages Saturday and how the teams that fare the best at getting wrestlers to state seem to be the teams that carry the most wrestlers into the semi-state level.
He’s right.
Yorktown brought a field-best 11 wrestlers into the Woodlan Semi-State at Memorial Coliseum and has seven advancing to state. Bellmont was the only other team with double digits in participants, with 10, and is also taking seven wrestlers into next weekend’s state finals at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
