Vikings edge Starfires for regional title
Three points were all that separated South Adams from its first regional title in boys’ cross country Saturday in the Marion Regional at Indiana Wesleyan University. The Starfires had four runners across the finish line before Huntington North’s third, but the Vikings three, four and five runners all came in together, five spots ahead of the Starfires’ fifth and that was enough to deny South Adams.
Huntington finished with 73 points to claim the regional; South Adams scored 76 to claim runner-up honors. Northfield (82) was third, followed by Oak Hill (108) and Fort Wayne South Side (136). Those five teams, along with the top 15 individuals will all move on to the New Haven Sem...
