Winchester stuns Starfires with late layup
Winchester senior Connor Detweiler burned South Adams all night from long range, sinking five 3-point shots, but it was his layup in the final seconds that scorched the Starfires worst, giving the Golden Falcons a stunning 51-50 victory Tuesday night at the Stardome.
South Adams (5-14) battled back from a rough second quarter and had a six-point lead with 6:20 left in the contest. Detweiler erased that with back-to-back 3-pointers by the 4:37 mark, and the lead began to volley back and forth.
