Samuel Eicher

Samuel J. Eicher, 76, of rural Berne passed away Friday, March 1, 2024, at 2:20 p.m. at his residence. He was born Tuesday, April 29, 1947, in Berne to Joe E. and Elizabeth (Girod) Eicher. He was married to Edith Schwartz.
He was a farmer and carpenter. He was of the Old Order Amish Church.
He is survived by his wife of Berne; six sons, Nathan (Caroline) Eicher, Campbellsburg, Kentucky; Sam (Rosie) Eicher of Berne; Jake (Margaret) Eicher of Celina, Ohio; Ben (Lovina) Eicher of Pekin; Reuben (Lizzie) Eicher of Salem; and Joseph (Maryann) Eicher, Owingsville, Kentucky; four daughters, Edith (Samuel E.) Schwartz of Geneva; Ann (Philip M.) Schwartz; and Mary (Paul M.K.) Eicher, both of Bryant; and Lucy (James M.) Schwartz of Berne; two sisters, Mary (Reuben) Schwartz of Monroe; and Naomi (Pete) Neuenschwander of Geneva; 110 grandchildren; and 53 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, Lizzie Schwartz; Margaret Schwartz; Frances Bradenberger; Ann Schwartz; Emm Schwartz; and Josephine Schwartz; three brothers, Joseph Eicher; Jake Eicher; Ben Eicher; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was Sunday, March 3 from 2-8 p.m. and will be Monday, March 4 from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Samuel J. Eicher residence, 3659 E. St. Rd. 218, Berne. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 5 at 9 a.m. at the residence. Officiating will be Bishop Daniel A. Schwartz. Burial will be at Blue Creek Amish Cemetery in Berne.
