Savilla Shetler

Savilla K. (Hilty) Shetler, 86, of rural Monroe, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, at 2:30 a.m. at the home of her son. She was born Aug. 22, 1937, in Geneva to John and Katie (Coblentz) Hilty. She was married May 28, 1959, to Andrew J. Shetler.
She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She is survived by seven daughters, Susan (Marc) Wickey of Gravel Switch, Kentucky; Kathy (John) Schwartz of Decatur; Rosalyn (Dave) Schwartz of Monroe; Melinda (Ervin) Schwartz of Goshen; Naomi (Aden) Troyer of Berne; Barbara (Daniel) Wickey of Burr Oak, Michigan; and Sara (Mark) Troyer of Bluffton; seven sons, Aden (Ruby) Shetler of Tustin, Michigan; Mahlon (Martha) Shetler of Geneva; John (Christine) Shetler of Berne; and Abe (Margueritte) Shetler; Joe (Lisa) Shetler; Neil (Irene) Shetler; and Urie (Susan) Shetler, all of Monroe; one daughter-in-law, Lena (Wickey) Shetler of Homer, Michigan; two brothers, Elmer K. Hilty; and John K. Hilty, both of Geneva; two sisters, Kathryn Schwartz of Etna Green;  and Susie Schwartz of Ohio; 131 grandchildren; and 165 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on April 24, 2014; her son, Andrew K. Shetler on Sep. 3, 2023; four brothers, Jake, Joseph, Christ and Henry Hilty; six sisters, Anna, Rebecca, Mary, Sylvia, Ada and Maggie; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 28 from 2-8 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 29 from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Urie Shetler residence, 1875 W. 50 S., Monroe. Funeral services will be Friday, March 1 at 9 a.m. at the residence. Officiating will be Bishop Chris Graber. Burial will be at Winchester Amish Cemetery.
