Clyde B. Augsburger, 86, of Berne passed away at 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Swiss Village in Berne. He was born on May 16, 1926 in Hartford Township to Chris and Ida (Fox) Augsburger. He was married on August 23, 1948 to Shirley Burmeister.
He served in the Philippines and Japan during WWII. He worked at Berne Furniture Co. for 45 years. He was a member of Grace Bible Church, where he served as an elder and a Sunday school teacher.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Sue (David) Collins of Cincinnati, Ohio; Sally (Roland) DeRenzo of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Pamela (Lonnie) Evans of Alpharetta, Georgia; five grandchildren, Micah (Shante) Collins; Chris DeRenzo; Michelle (Jeremy) Soronen; Alex Evans; and Hannah Evans; and four great-grandchildren, Elijah, Gideon, Ezekiel, and Judah Collins; and two sisters-in-law, Helen Augsburger of Berne; and Joann Burmeister of Chokio, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Florine Sprunger; Vera Augsburger; and Violet Lehman; brother, Ken Augsburger;
Visitation will be an hour and a half prior to the 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, January 19 at Swiss Village Chapel in Berne. Officiating will be Dr. Roland DeRenzo. Burial will take place at the MRE Cemetery in Berne.
