Edward Diaz, 87, of New Lenox, Illinois passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, Illinois. He was born on October 22, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to Rodgrio and Herlinda (Agularia) Diaz. He was married on November 12, 1944 to Mary Flores.
He attended St. Jude Church in New Lenox, Illinois and was a truck driver. He collected coins and enjoyed baseball, especially the Chicago White Sox.
He is survived by a son, Robert L. Diaz of South Holland, Illinois; two daughters, Dorothy F. Marnell of Mattsen, Illinois; and Gloria J. Tomchek of New Lenox, Illinois; niece, Mary Ann Solano Tilbury of Berne; two nephews, Reuben Solano of Berne; and David Solano of California; six grandchildren, Lisa Parks; Becci Diaz; Stephanie Diaz; Michael Marnell; Brian Marnell; and Frank Kozlowski; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five brothers; and a sister.

Visitation was one hour prior to the 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Friday, September 21 at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne. Officiating was Dr. Wayne F. Steury. Burial took place at MRE Cemetery in Berne.
