Mildred A. Settlemeyer

Mildred Alice Settlemeyer, 100, of Berne and formerly of Wells County, passed away at 1:55 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Swiss Village Retirement Community in Berne. She was born on October 1, 1912 in Plum Tree to Jesse and Bertha Viola (Elick) Decker. She was married on February 14, 1939 in Fort Wayne to Kenneth W. Settlemeyer.
She graduated from Rockcreek High School in 1930. She lived most of her life in Wells County. She was employed as a Clerk by Lincoln National Life for 19 years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Markle United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Wayne K. (Bonnie) Settlemeyer of Wildwood, Missouri; daughter, Lois of Camas, Washington; three grandchildren, Krista Dudash; Kelly Eden; and Shari Settlemeyer; and four great-grandchildren, Danielle and Gabrielle Dudash; Ashley Smith; and Courtney Eden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Opal Burnau; and Dorothy Shively.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28 at Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, November 29 at the Swiss Village Auditorium in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Steven McPeek. Burial will take place at the Hoverstock Cemetery in Zanesville.
