Pamela S. Johnson
Pamela S. Johnson, 63, of Decatur passed away at 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at her residence following a 14 year battle with cancer. She was born on June 4, 1949 in Decatur to Daniel and Jennie (Carr) McCoy. She was married on August 17, 1974 at the Zion United Church of Christ in Decatur to Earl E. Johnson.
At the Zion United Church of Christ, she served as a Sunday school teacher and led a small group. She was also a member of Church Women United and served as their former president for four years. She was a current member of the Decatur Church of God, where she had served as a teller. She retired in 2010 with 44 years of service from Do-It-Best Corporation.
She is survived by her husband of Decatur; and a sister-in-law, Kathy McCoy of Auburn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Bruce and Timothy McCoy.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5 at the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6 at the Decatur Church of God. Officiating will be Dr. Robert Brink and Pastor Sandy Hildebrand. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery.
