Rufine C. Neuenschwander, 92, of Berne passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur. She was born on October 11, 1919 to Manasse and Mary (Von Gunten) Liechty. She was married on August 24,1940 to Weldon O. Neuenschwander.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Bible Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, card making and beading.
She is survived by two sons, James A. (Louise) Neuenschwnder; and Mark (Jeanene) Neuenschwander, both of Berne; four daughters, Rebecca (William) Lehman of Kingman; Susan (Frank) Lehman of Berne; Martha Jane (Larry) Uhrick of Wolcottville; and Sandra (Gene) Bradley of Evansville; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; seven sisters, Velma Brown; Alda Neuenschwander; Eleanor Jones; Minnie Liechty; Naomi Habegger; Ada Nussbaum; and Lillie Steiner; and three brothers, Rufus, Rolandas, and Wildas Liechty.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25 at the Swiss Village Chapel and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26 at the Grace Bible Church in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Jeffrey A. Gaskill and Pastor William Lehman. Burial will take place at the MRE Cemetery in Berne.
