Violet D. Timmons

Violet Deloris Timmons, 94, of Franklin passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Franklin United Methodist Community in Franklin. She was described by those who knew her as, "the sweetest person I’d ever met who never said anything bad about anyone." She was born on July 29, 1918 in Geneva to John Ernest and Lucy Harriet (Decker) Teeter. She was married on October 30, 1941 to Charles Basil Timmons. They raised and provided for their three daughters in the Bryant and Geneva area.
They spent many winters in Punta Gorda, Florida until his death in 1983. She continued to winter in their home there until Hurricane Charlie destroyed it in 2004. She was a long time member of the United Methodist Church and served the High Street United Methodist Church in Geneva as a Sunday school teacher for children and young married couples as well as in several capacities including janitor for many years. Her occupation was being a loving, praying mother and grandmother and was a fan of watching the Pacers and the Colts.
In 2009, she moved into the Franklin United Methodist Community, where she lived until September 22, 2012 when the Lord answered her prayer to take her home. Even though she resided at FUMC only a short time, she acquired many friends through her sweetness and smile. People definitely knew where she stood on her Christian values. She died surrounded by her loving family and a very loving and caring community of special friends, nurses and staff.
She is survived by three daughters, Judy Wagner (Thomas-deceased) of Muncie; Patti (Dwight) Michael of Henryville; and Cindy (Jon) Winteregg of Franklin; eight grandchildren, Lorrie Carey; and Debbie Applegate, both of Yorktown; Mindy Beard of Muncie; Matthew Michael of Henryville; Missy Michael of Westfield; Nathan Michael of Muncie; and Stefany Winteregg; and Stacia Winteregg, both of Greenwood; eight great-grandchildren, Kristi Carey; and Molly Beard, both of Muncie; Jenna Carey of Yorktown; Zach Atkinson of Noblesville; Jalyn Michael, J.D.
